Welcome to my blog. This is my first official post to this blog. This business education blog was created to assist with my assignments for class ABED 6107 Instructional Strategies for Technology. I hope to develop this site and add useful links to other websites and blogs. I look forward to the interaction that will take place here. I'd like to start by seeing if anyone has any useful links I could use in beginning to develop this blog.
Marlena, I look forward to working in the group and I'm confident we will make a great website.
ReplyDeleteMarlena... Since Business Education is a broad field, which specific subject areas are you interested in focusing in your blog?
ReplyDeleteMarlena are you also focusing the site on the financial literacy component of Bus Ed?
ReplyDeleteMarlena,
ReplyDeleteI think a nice start to your page might include the information found at: http://www.elevateurbanyouth.org/v2/new/Games/Budget_busters.html. The page features a game geared toward slightly younger kids than what we might be teaching, but it could be modified for middle school very easily.
Our county is making a push toward the standards based classroom, wherein they would like to see at least 50% of the standards met in the form of projects. As a parent, I know how much other parents appreciate the hours typically spent with children working on projects at home- NOT! This project, which features a game board design and creation, can be done completely in the classroom. It can also be structured so that the less capable students have a significant role to play as would the advanced and average students.
The nature of the set up should also appeal to students as they learn the intricacies of economics and budgeting. Let us know what you think when you get a chance to check it out.
Hey Guys,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the help. I would like to gear this blog toward financial information. Thanks for the posts. I will be updating and adding information to the blog soon.
